Short routes

    VILLAGES IN THE IJSSELLANDSCHAP | 28.11 km

    Starting point: TOP Bronkhorst, Onderstraat 9

    The beautiful area east of the river IJssel, between the Hanseatic cities of Zutphen and Doesburg, is perfect for a relaxing bike ride. You cycle on a beautiful cycle path that takes you over the dikes and along the water. Along the way, you will enjoy the views over the IJssel river and come across the smallest town in the Netherlands, Bronkhorst. 

    The route can also be started from De Weelderik. 

    NATURAL BRONCKHORST | 32 km

    Starting point: TOP Hengelo, Bleekstraat 3

    This route runs through the woods via Keppel and Drempt. On the way, you will find Wijnboerderij 't Heekenbroek, an idyllic place to stop for a cup of coffee with homemade cake or a delicious glass of wine from its own wine cellar. Now that's enjoying a pleasant terrace overlooking the vines. 

    The route can also be started from De Weelderik.

    Around Doetinchem | 51 km

    Starting point: VVV Doetinchem, Burgemeester van Nispenstraat 2 or TOP Laag Keppel, Dorpssstraat 30

    You start in the centre of Doetinchem and cycle through the forest area 'De Wrange' towards lock De Pol with weir and fish ladder. Tip: nice to stop here and enjoy the surroundings. You then continue the route through the Achterhoek farming landscape and green meadows, back towards the centre of Doetinchem. The hospitable city centre is easily accessible and attractively located between greenery and water. In Doetinchem, you can enjoy yourself! 

Long routes

    EIGHT CASTLE ROUTE | 34.7 km

    Starting point: Marktplein, Vorden

    The Eight Castles Route has been around since 1913 and takes you past eight castles between Vorden and Ruurlo. Most castles are privately owned, but Castle Vorden and the gardens of Huis de Wiersse are open to visitors on a limited basis. Tip: Take a break at Hackfort Castle and enjoy the restaurant in the koetshuis. 

    LONG AGRICULTURAL GOODS & CASTLES | 43.4 km

    Starting point: TOP Bronkhorst, Onderstraat 9 or De Weelderik

    During this route, you will discover the smallest town in the Netherlands, Bronkhorst, with only 170 inhabitants. You will also pass several castles in the area such as Huize Baak, Kasteel Suideras, Kasteel Vorden and Kasteel Hackfort. In short, a versatile route through forested and historical surroundings.
